If your test is positive, you should report it in the normal way and then follow the recommended protocol for the country you're in. You'll be posted a PCR test to confirm your positive result. In the UK, there is advice on the NHS website.
Day 2 Testing
The UK Government announced on November 27th that a new variant of concern, Omicron, has caused them to take the decision to reinstate PCR tests for Day 2 testing. Vaccinated travellers arriving in the UK must now take a Day 2 PCR test after they arrive and self-isolate until a negitive result is confirmed. The rules for unvaccinated travellers remain the same: travellers must take a pre-departure Lateral Flow Test before setting off (you can use My Travel Test for this) and then self-isolate for 10 days when they get home, taking PCR tests on Day 2 and Day 8.
Fit to Fly Test
While many destinations accept photo verification for at-home self-testing, the USA currently requires an enhanced level of verification for testing at home. If you can't book an in-clinic Rapid Antigen (Lateral Flow Test) in person, there is still the option to use an at-home kit - but you will need the test supervised by a medical professional in order to obtain your certificate. Please click here to buy a Live Video Lateral Flow Test Appointment for £35 + p&p.
A large number of popular overseas travel destinations now accept Lateral Flow (Antigen) Tests for entry provided all other conditions are met. You can read more about these countries on our travel blog, and check individual locations on the Government Website. Please make sure to check the requirements for your individual country carefully before booking, including whether self-tests are permissible.
We need to collect some information from you about yourself, your testing kit and your travel plans in order to issue your certificate. When you're ready to take your test, you can find the registration form here.
