Anti-Wrinkle Injections are made of a naturally occurring toxin that has been safely used in small doses for cosmetic treatments for decades, to relax facial muscles.
It's commonly used for minimising the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the forehead, between the eyebrows and beside the eyes, as well as lifting the corners of the mouth. The effects are observed after 3 - 5 days and last up to six months.
It has also be used in the treatment of 'gummy smile', as well as treating excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) and teeth grinding (Bruxism).

How Does It Work?
Anti-wrinkle injections contain Botulinum toxin, a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. This sounds a bit alarming but it's extremely safe when administered by a medical practitioner in small doses for cosmetic purposes. It is administered in small amounts into facial muscles through a tiny needle, causing the muscles to relax and therefore reducing the folds that naturally appear in our skin when our face moves. It has also be used as an excessive sweating treatment for the palms, feet and the underarms, as well as treating certain tension conditions such a TMJ and tooth grinding.

Down-time
There is generally no down time after Anti-wrinkle Injections; you can carry on with your normal day.
Just make sure you follow aftercare instructions given to you by your practitioner.
Costs
Treatments are fully personalised to you and what you're looking to achieve from your treatment, so the number of areas treated varies from person to person.
Typically, a treatment can range from £200 - £500, depending on your individual needs.
Appointment Time
Injectable appointments are generally very quick; treatments targeting wrinkles only shouldn't last more than 15 minutes.
Filler treatments will last around 30 minutes depending on the desired treatment area.
Bruxism/Hyperhidrosis treatment may vary slightly depending on your individual needs.
Refresh Time
The length of time between appointments varies by treatment, area and individual. If your treatment involves toxin injections, you may look to get a retreatment around the three to four month mark. Depending on your individual facial muscles, however, the effects of your treatment may be noticeable for far longer than that. Dermal filler injections and Profhilo treatments last longer - between 12 and 18 months.
