Or do you simply want to have both tests, which is the recommendation of our Medical Director. Please ensure you have checked the Foreign Travel Advice on the Gov.uk website for information about requirements for your travel destination

**PLEASE NOTE:

PCR results come back the same day for tests before 12pm. Afternoon tests (or tests for those travelling to Hong Kong or Barbados) are generally received the following day before 2pm. We are not liable for any associated costs should your results be delayed. A full refund is issued if your flight is cancelled and you need to cancel the booking for a test.

Please note that for any of our Clinic or Home Test bookings, proof of identity is required prior to having your sample taken. This can be an ID Card, Passport, Drivers License or Residents Permit. If you are having a Fit to Fly test, please bring your passport. Unfortunately, we will not be able to assist you if you do not have any legal identification on you when coming for your appointment.

Antibody tests look for evidence of the immune response to covid-19. The aim to answer the question: have I been exposed to COVID-19 and produced an immune response? You can read in more detail about the types of test here. If you want to see if you are carrying covid-19 now, you need to use an antigen test (PCR test)

We do not yet know if the antibodies are protective to make you immune and we do not yet know how long this immunity will last.

Public Health England released guidelines on 11th May, 2020 detailing the flowchart describing return to work following a SARS Cov-2 test result.

Guidelines

Anyone wishing to follow the above PHE advice should also have an antigen test which can be booked here.

If a person is exposed to covid-19, their immune system will react in order to start clearing the virus. This involves producing antibodies to help clear the virus and evidence suggests most patients who recover from covid-19 produce them. There are different types of antibodies: IgG is the most common and it is the IgG to covid-19 that is detected by this test.

We strive to offer the most accurate test. It is CE marked and approved for us in the UK by THE MHRA. The test is extremely accurate with a sensitivity of >97.4% and specificity of 100%.

Producing antibodies takes time: testing should be undertaken 14 days or more following symptom onset.

You can read more about what your antibody result means here

COV-2 IgG < 1.4 Not Detected (Negative)
COV-2 IgG > = 1.4 Detected (Positive)

Specificity 100%
Sensitivity 97.5%

Results should be used in conjunction with information available from clinical evaluation and other diagnostic procedures. It has been recognised that there can be delayed responses in immunocompromised patients.
