How quickly will I get the results?

Please read carefully..
Our team work tirelessly and send results 7 days per week.
If you have your test with us on Monday to Friday at either our Canary Wharf Clinic, Upper Wimpole Street Clinic or in the comfort of your own Home or Workplace, you should receive your results the next day*. The laboratory we use is in Harley Street and to facilitate the quickest possible turnaround, our dedicated team make hourly deliveries.

If you have your test with us on a Saturday at one of the above locations, we generally get the results back to you the next day, however they can sometimes take up to 48 hours as the laboratory runs at a lower capacity. Please check with us if you are booking a Saturday test if you have any specific time constraints.

(*Please note for clarification, the timing of receiving your results can be anywhere between 20-48 hours after your test. Generally we get 90% of results back to people inside 24 hours however things such as capacity at the laboratory and test re-runs can mean results take slightly longer.  In the exceptionally unlikely event that your results are not back within 60 hours of the laboratory receiving the sample, we would refund your test fee in full.  We are not liable for any other associated costs should your results be delayed.)

If you have your test at one of our over Partner Locations, you will usually get your results, within 36 to 48 hours of our laboratory receiving your sample.

If you prefer to self administer the test, send the test back by Royal Mail Special Delivery directly to us. We will deliver the samples to our laboratory before 4PM that day, meaning results the following day.

Our recommendation is to use both the COVID-19 Antibody and PCR COVID-19 clinical testing service. This is the only way to be certain that you have developed an immune response and that the Covid-19 virus has left your body. We also offer both the Abbott Antibody and PCR COVID-19 as home testing services.

You can take an antibody test from 14 days after the onset of your symptoms.

We only use laboratories with the highest accreditation standards. The organisation that supplies us with the test is on the approved list of the NHS and PHE. This is the same laboratory that supplies us our Abbot antibody test test.

Note that results must be evaluated within the clinical context, which is why this is a clinical service which includes the test, advice on test results and further clinical management.

You can read more about these terms here

The used at our laboratory show a minimum sensitivity of 98% and a specificity of 100% when the virus is on the swab with no cross-reactivity with other viruses. This is when the test is performed correctly. The sensitivity can fall for a number of reasons and it is important for the results to be reviewed within their clinical context. We strongly advise:

    1. Nothing can go in the mouth for at least 2 hours prior to testing, this includes: food, drinks, cigarettes, chewing gum, etc.
    2. Mouthwash not to be used for 24 hours.
    3. Nothing can go in the nose for at least 24 hours prior to testing, this includes: nasal medication, saline, hay fever sprays, cotton buds, etc.

All of the above can inhibit the sample and mean they it needs to be retested or may not enable a conclusive result to be delivered.
